IFC AudioDocs 2022 – Know before you go!

We’re really looking forward to seeing you at IFC AudioDocs 2022.
Ahead of announcing the full schedule, please read the following information which we hope you’ll find useful.


The best way to get from Cardiff Airport (CWL) to Cardiff city centre is by train.
Take the train from ‘Rhoose Cardiff International Airport (RIA)’ to ‘Cardiff Central (CDF)’ which takes 34 minutes and costs £5 each way.
Tickets can be booked on the Transport for Wales website.

Alternatively, you can travel by bus.
A scenic, but longer journey which takes 1h 37m and costs £6.60 each way.
Take the bus from ‘Cardiff Airport’ to ‘Customhouse Street, Cardiff’.
You can plan your journey on the Traveline Cymru website.

There are also taxis available through FlightLink Wales, Cardiff Airport’s official taxi service which costs £33 each way.

Conference registration

Registration for IFC AudioDocs 2022 will be open from 11:00 – 17:00 on Sunday 22 May in the reception area of BBC Cymru Wales Central Square.
Please remember to bring photo ID to gain entry and note that security staff will conduct searches of visitors and their belongings on arrival.
Handily, the BBC Wales building is located directly opposite Cardiff Central Train Station, a 30-second walk away.

Informal gathering

Whether you’re a seasoned pro, or a new kid on the block, we’d love for you to join us the night before the conference kicks-off at 19:30 on Sunday 22 May at The Head of Steam.
Everyone is welcome.
This will be an informal opportunity to meet other people before the conference begins and raise a glass together – Iechyd da | Cheers!

Official opening

IFC AudioDocs 2022 will officially begin at 09:00 on Monday 23 May at the School of Journalism, Media and Culture (JOMEC).
The days are packed so please arrive promptly for all sessions!

Conference dinner

We are delighted to announce that this year’s conference dinner will be held at 19:15 on Monday 23 May at St Fagans National Museum of History, an Art Fund Museum of the Year in 2019, the most prestigious museum prize in the world.Wales’ most visited heritage attraction, St Fagans explores the history and culture of the country.
There will be free buses to and from the museum.

Conference drinks reception

BBC Wales will host the conference drinks reception at the BBC’s latest and most state-of-the-art studios – BBC Cymru Wales Central Square – at 18:00 on Wednesday 25 May.


BBC Wales will provide complimentary tea and coffee on arrival each morning and during the morning and afternoon breaks.
With the conference being based in Cardiff’s city centre, delegates will be spoilt for choice with a plethora of  delicious places to eat. We’ll share with you our local’s guide to food and drink, it’s our pick of the best independent places to eat and drink in the city centre.

Office closing

IFC AudioDocs 2022 will officially close at 13:00 on Thursday 26 May.
