2017 Third Coast Competition – Early Deadline …

Hi all,

Due to technical issues with the submissions website, the early deadlines have been extended by one day to Wednesday, 14 June at noon Pacific Time.

Dennis
I realised that I put the wrong entry fees in the initial message.
They are clarified below...

Early deadline fees:
35$ for students
55$ for non-students
These fees apply until noon PST on 13 June

Regular deadline fee:
75$ for ALL entries (students and non-students)
This fee applies until noon on 11 July.

Apologies for the misinformation.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need any help applying.

Best,
Dennis

Hi IFC 2017 attendees,

I wanted to let you all know that the early deadline for the 2017 Third Coast/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition is on 13 June.
If you enter a feature on or before that date, the submission fee is less expensive ($35 USD) than it will be through the final deadline ($55 USD), which is 11 July.

As you may be aware, Third Coast created a ‘Best Documentary: Foreign Language’ category last year for documentaries not produced in English, and we’re awarding that again this year.
I’ve pasted the guidelines for the prize below:

BEST DOCUMENTARY: FOREIGN LANGUAGE — prize: $1,000(USD)
TCIAF will award an exceptional documentary produced in a language other than English.
As an international award, we are thrilled to open up the TC/RHDF to local makers in countries throughout the world.
Entries for the category should document a place, time, person, event, phenomenon or issue.
These include but are not limited to: investigative reports, narrative stories, personal essays and audio portraits.
We’re interested in work with a social mission and stories that entertain.
Musical and historical documentaries are welcome.
Profiles and cultural snapshots are welcome.
Podcasts and other programs that redefine the documentary form are welcome. (Length eligibility 3–60 minutes).
An English transcript is required, with a time stamp at the end of each page.

Work is eligible if it was produced within the last two years, so July 2015 to present.
For more details about all of the awards and their entry guidelines, have a look on Third Coast’s website: http://thirdcoastfestival.org/overview/competition/_2017-third-coast-richard-h-driehaus-foundation-competition

Good luck to all of you, and please email me at dfunk@thirdcoastfestival.org if you have any questions about entering.
Also, feel free to pass this notice along to your friends, colleagues and other organisations who may want to submit work as well.

All the best,

Dennis
