The Woman on the Ice is a subtle documentary for Third Ear, an online platform dedicated to audio programmes. Rikke Houd (Denmark) tells the story of Karen Roos, a Danish nurse who went to Greenland in 1932 and disappeared nine months later. “The Woman on the Ice” is a slow (and somewhat sentimental) piece on the brink of fiction, a slightly artificial search for traces left behind 80 years ago, for last footprints in the snow on the edge of an eastern Greenlandic cliff.
