PI 2012 – Prix Italia 64th edition Turin, 16th – 21st September 2012

The 64th edition of the Prix Italia, thought up and directed by the Secretary General, Giovanna Milella, welcomes you to its opening in Turin on the 16th September. This prestigious and International radio-television and web competition will continue right through to the 21st of September in the capital of Piedmont.

The Prix Italia and the city of Turin thus continue to celebrate their union.

Turin, first capital city of Italy, that commemorated the 150th anniversary of the Italian Unity last year, is the city where the public Italian Radio-Television was first set up and conceived.

The venues of the Festival will be the same as those of the past editions.

The  Rai Production Centre, in Via Verdi 16, will host all the meetings in the Radio and Television Museum.

The Radio Building, in via Verdi 31, will be the location where the Juries’ works will take place.

The work of the Juries will start according to the below timetable:

Sunday 16th Sept 2012 at1.00pm
Tuesday 18th Sept 2012 at 9.30am
Wednesday 19 th  Sept 2012 at 9.30am

This year’s edition offers many and highly interesting “Special Prizes”.

The following “Special Prizes” have been confirmed:

Special Prize “Best multimedia section of newspapers, magazines and press agencies”:  a jury, built up of students coming from the Turin University and from the School of Journalism, will all work together in the web section and multimedia section.

Special Prize “Jury of Students”: a jury, made up of students and co-ordinated by university teachers, will have the task to work on the TV drama category and assign two Prizes.

link will be available for the jurors to view and listen to the submitted programmes in competition.

Therefore: the entries of the TV, Radio, Web and Special Prizes will be anticipated to the 30th of March.  Note that within that date and only via e-mail, a summary in French and English of this year’s competing programmes must be sent in.

Within, and not after, the 30th of April the following duties must be carried out:

Payment of annual quota
Sending in of the DVDs, Cds audio and promotional material of the programmes
Sending in via e-mail of the English and possibly French scripts of the programmes in competition
Sending in of the curriculum vitae and photos of the Jury members via e-mail.
